How to use it

  1. Ask one person for one bit of help. Try, “Can you pick up groceries on Thursday?”
  2. If they say yes, write their name and the time on the plan.
  3. If they cannot, ask about a smaller job. You do not have to do it all.

Asking family for help that actually happens

Care can grow until one person is doing too much. Others may want to help but not know what you need. Ask your parent who they want involved, then ask for a whole job someone can finish, like the groceries each Tuesday, or a ride to the clinic and back home.

When people say yes, write the job, the day and time, and their name. A blank name means help is still needed. If someone says no, ask once about a smaller job, then plan with the people who said yes. Friends and neighbors may be able to help too.

People who live far away can still book rides, compare care prices, or make calls. Give each helper a copy, share only what they need, and ask them to call as soon as a plan falls through.
