How to use Tiina

The owner’s manual for something that barely needs one.

No commands. No menus to memorize. Just one button and a conversation — with a little help here if you want it.

We proofread it twice.

Chapter one · Start here

Three things. That’s the whole interface.

Tiina is designed to feel more like calling someone than operating software.

02

Talk normally

No wake word and no special phrasing. Say it exactly as it comes to mind.

03

Hang up anytime

Tap the dark Hang Up button. There is nothing to save and nothing to close.

Chapter two · Try it here

The button really works.

This demo works like the app. Tap the button, listen in, then share a photo while the call is going.

1

Tap to Call Tiina
Sound begins after you tap.

2

Share a Photo
Show her what you’re looking at.

3

Hang Up
End the call whenever you like.

The model stays on this page. It does not use your microphone or camera.

Good morning, Margaret.

Chapter three · No magic words

Things you can just say.

Choose an example. Tiina understands ordinary sentences, half-finished thoughts, and changes of mind.

You

“Remind me to take my pills at eight every morning.”

Tiina

“Done. Eight o’clock, every morning. I’ll be gentle about it.”

If you would say it to a patient person on the phone, you can say it to Tiina.

Chapter four · A useful thing happens quietly

You do not have to start over every time.

Tiina remembers the people, preferences, and plans you mention so the next conversation can pick up where the last one ended.

  • Ask: “What do you remember about me?”

  • Correct: “Actually, my appointment is Friday.”

  • ×

Forget: “Please forget what I said about that.”

You stay in control. Everything Tiina remembers is visible in Settings.

Chapter five · Worth two minutes

Put Tiina one tap away.

The Home Screen widget is the only setup worth learning. Tap a step below and Tiina will say it aloud while the phone shows you exactly what happens.

Shown using iOS 18. The wording or button position may vary slightly on older iPhones. Widgets require iOS 16.1 or newer. Tiina also works on iPad. The pictures in this guide show an iPhone.

Even faster

Add her to the Lock Screen, too.

Tap a step to watch and hear Tiina explain it slowly, or play all three from beginning to end.

Look for a soft gray orb. Apple draws every Lock Screen widget in gray; Tiina is working normally.

Chapter six · Everything in one place

Settings, translated.

Tap any row in the phone. The plain-English card will tell you what it actually does.

What it does

What Tiina Knows

Everything she remembers about you, in plain sight. Read it, correct it, or delete any of it.

Every row uses the same large, plain-button treatment as the real app.

If something does not work

Three quick things to try.

Most problems are one setting or one button. These fixes do not change anything else on your phone.

Tiina cannot hear me

Open Settings in Tiina, tap What Tiina can use, then make sure Microphone is allowed.

I cannot hear Tiina

While Tiina is speaking, press the upper volume button on the left side of your iPhone a few times.

The call will not connect

Check that Wi-Fi or cellular data is on, close Tiina, and open her again. Your conversations and memories stay safe.
