Plain-language summary
Tiina is an AI companion. You are interacting with artificial intelligence, not a human.
We collect information you provide (such as contact details and what you share in conversations), information collected automatically (such as device and usage data), and information from service providers and partners that help us operate and market the Service.
We may process and retain conversation content (including transcripts and, in some cases, audio recordings and images) to provide the Service, protect users, comply with law, and to improve, evaluate, and train our systems.
We use cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, and similar technologies for essential functions, analytics, and advertising (including retargeting). You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of certain interest‑based advertising through third‑party tools and settings.
The Tiina mobile app may include in‑app advertising and sponsored audio content (including before voice conversations begin). Frequency varies by subscription tier — paid tiers may receive fewer or no advertisements. We do not share personally identifiable information (your name, phone, email, voice recordings, conversation content, photos, or memory) with in‑app advertising partners.
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have additional rights, including rights related to targeted advertising.
This summary is not part of the full legal terms. Please read the full policy below.

Advertising/marketing identifiers (e.g., cookie identifiers).
Cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, and similar technologies used for essential functions, analytics, and advertising (including retargeting).
C. Permissions and connected sources (optional)
If you choose to enable certain features or grant permissions, we may collect and process additional information, such as:
Camera/photos (e.g., images you capture or upload for analysis).
Microphone/audio (e.g., audio you provide during voice interactions).
Contacts or calendar information (e.g., if you choose to connect your address book or calendar for reminders or related features).
Notifications and device settings (e.g., whether you have enabled push notifications).
D. Sensitive information
We do not require you to provide sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers or full bank account numbers) to use the Service. If you choose to provide sensitive information in conversation or uploads, you do so at your discretion. We may apply automated measures intended to detect and reduce storage of certain highly sensitive identifiers (for example, by redacting or minimizing storage of common PII patterns), but we cannot guarantee that all sensitive information will be detected or removed.
3. How we collect information
We collect information:
Directly from you when you create an account, use the Service, upload content, contact support, or otherwise communicate with us.
Automatically through server logs, cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, and similar technologies when you use the Service.
From service providers and partners that help us operate, secure, and market the Service (e.g., hosting providers, analytics providers, communications providers, advertising partners, and payment processors/app stores).
From your device and operating system, consistent with your device settings and permissions.
4. How we use information
We use information for purposes such as:
Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (including AI processing and personalization).
Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and provide customer support.
Process payments and manage subscriptions (through app stores and/or payment processors).
Maintain security, detect/prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
Safety features (for example, detecting likely scams or crisis language and providing resources).
Analyze usage and improve the Service, including debugging, quality assurance, and developing new features.
Develop, evaluate, and train our models and systems (including using conversation content and related outputs, subject to the choices described in this policy and applicable law).
Marketing and advertising, including measuring ad performance and retargeting (for example, showing ads to people who visited our website or took certain actions).
Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We may create and use de‑identified or aggregated information for analytics, product improvement, and other lawful purposes. We take steps intended to ensure de‑identified information cannot reasonably be used to identify you, but de‑identification is not a guarantee.
5. Location and reminders
A. Location
With your permission, Tiina uses your approximate location — your city or general area — so she can talk with you about things like your local weather and what is happening near you when those subjects come up in conversation. We do not track a continuous history of where you go, and we do not use your location to build an advertising profile about you.
Location is entirely optional. Tiina works without it, and she asks for it only once. You can turn it off at any time — open Settings inside the Tiina app and switch location off, or turn it off for Tiina in your device's own settings (on iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services). When you turn it off, Tiina simply stops using your location.
We do not sell your location information, and we do not share it with advertising partners.
B. Reminders
When you ask Tiina to remember a reminder, the words you choose for that reminder are your own content. We store your reminder text so Tiina can bring it up at the right time, and we treat it the same way as the other things you share with Tiina, as described in this policy. You can review or delete this information using the in‑app controls described in Section 9 (Your choices).
6. Cookies, analytics, and interest‑based advertising
A. Cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, and similar technologies
We and our partners may use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, tags, SDKs, and server‑side events) to operate the Service, understand usage, prevent fraud/abuse, and support advertising and retargeting.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect Service functionality.
B. Analytics
We may use analytics tools and service providers to understand how users interact with the Service (for example, pages visited, time spent, and interactions) and to generate reports that help us improve the Service. These providers may collect information through cookies and similar technologies.
On our website (tiina.ai), we currently use Analytics 4 (GA4) and Tag Manager to measure traffic, page views, and conversion events such as starting a free trial or completing a subscription. GA4 may set cookies to recognize returning visitors and to associate page views with the same browser session. We may also pass coarse, hashed information (such as a hashed phone number) to for measurement purposes.
C. Advertising and retargeting
We may use advertising services and pixels/tags provided by major advertising platforms and networks, which may include (but are not limited to) (, , and related networks), (including Ads), (including Ads), TikTok, Reddit, X (formerly Twitter), and other similar providers.
Where we use these partners, we may load their pixels and similar technologies through a tag management system (such as Tag Manager). Some partners may also receive conversion events from our servers (server‑side or "Conversions API" integrations) that include hashed identifiers — such as a hashed email address or phone number — for measurement and attribution purposes. We do not share unhashed contact information, conversation content, photos, or memory data with these advertising partners.
These partners may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about your activity on our Service over time and across different websites or apps. This information may be used to measure ad performance and to personalize or retarget advertising.
For our website (tiina.ai) only: we may share certain identifiers (such as cookie identifiers and in some cases hashed contact information such as email or phone number) with web advertising partners for measurement, attribution, and retargeting. We do not intentionally share the content of your conversations (such as transcripts) or the contents of your uploaded photos/documents with advertising partners for interest‑based advertising.
For in‑app advertising within the Tiina mobile application, see Section 6.E below — we apply stricter limits there.
E. In‑app advertising and sponsored content
The Tiina mobile application is partially supported by advertising. The Service may display advertisements and may include sponsored audio messages ("sponsored content") within the app, including before voice conversations begin or in non‑conversation surfaces (such as settings, account, or memory views). The frequency and presence of advertisements may vary by subscription tier; paid tiers may receive fewer or no advertisements.
We do not share personally identifiable information with our in‑app advertising partners. Specifically, we do not share with in‑app advertising partners: your name, phone number, email address, voice recordings, conversation transcripts, photos, uploaded documents, or the contents of Tiina's memory about you.
In‑app advertisements may be selected using non‑personal contextual signals such as device type, approximate region (city or country level only), language preference, and aggregated, anonymized usage patterns. Where permitted under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, we may share an anonymized device‑level advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA) with in‑app advertising partners solely for frequency capping and basic measurement; you may decline this sharing through iOS Settings or when prompted.
Sponsored audio content is clearly distinguished from Tiina's own statements (for example, with introductions such as "this conversation is brought to you by [advertiser]") and is delivered in a different voice than Tiina herself. Tiina does not endorse the products or services of advertisers.
You can reduce or eliminate in‑app advertisements by upgrading your subscription tier.
D. Do Not Track; Global Privacy Control and similar signals
Some browsers provide "Do Not Track" signals and some tools provide opt‑out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control).
Do Not Track: We do not respond to Do Not Track signals.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar signals: Where required by applicable law, we will process legally valid opt‑out preference signals as requests to opt out of certain processing (for example, targeted advertising) for the browser/device that sends the signal. Some advertising partners may also receive such signals directly and apply their own controls.
F. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information; Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information
Under California law, certain "sharing" of personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising, and certain processing of "sensitive personal information" (which can include voice recordings and conversation content), give you specific rights. We honor these rights for California residents and, as a matter of policy, will respond to substantively similar requests from residents of other U.S. states regardless of whether their state law requires it.
To opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising, or to limit the use of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Service, email privacy@tiina.ai with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share" or "Limit Sensitive PI." Include the email address and, if applicable, the phone number associated with your account so we can locate your records.
We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as opt‑out preference signals for the browser/device that sends them. You do not need to take an additional step on this device if your browser already sends GPC.
7. How we share information
We may share information:
With service providers that help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, analytics, customer support, security, communications, and AI processing providers).
With advertising and marketing partners to display, measure, and optimize advertising, including retargeting (as described above).
To comply with law or legal process, and to protect rights, safety, and security.
In connection with a business transaction (e.g., merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets).
With your direction or consent (for example, if you choose to share content externally).

Message frequency varies. You may receive 1–3 transactional messages per subscription related to your account. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. For help, reply HELP or contact privacy@tiina.ai.
